a six-week mentoring programme for brand designers
Designers at the top of their game enjoy commercial success. They don’t need to fight for work, compromise on their standards or allow themselves to be micro-managed by challenging clients. When you are an incredible designer, your portfolio glows with the evidence of your brilliance. It consistently attracts the right work and you get to enjoy the freedom that comes from stepping away from the hustle.
What does it take to be an incredible designer? Vision, flair and exquisite attention to detail are a given. What really makes the difference is the drive and the hunger to create the best work that you possibly can and the commitment to seeing it through. There is no shortcut or magic bullet to attracting the dream clients. It takes work, it takes dedication to honing your skills and requires directed, experienced and visionary feedback. This is where mentoring comes into its own.
Elevate is a six week mentoring programme for brand designers committed to excellence. It’s for entrepreneurs ready to take themselves, their business and their brand design seriously.
let’s create brand magic
This is your opportunity to nail that portfolio, to refine your skills and to really push yourself to elevate. From the way you manage your clients to the way you present your work and every detail in between, this will make all the difference.
I’ll be your Art Director for the duration of the programme and will guide you through creating three magnificent portfolio pieces that you can be truly proud of. You’re in the best hands and together, we’ll create brand magic.
We begin on Monday 23rd September and graduate on Friday 8th November. Fortnightly assignments will run alongside a carefully developed programme of content. Twenty places ensures each participant who commits will benefit from optimum input and support.
It’s time to elevate.

what you’ll gain
There’s no substitute for someone who knows what they are doing and will tell it to you straight. Someone who can see what’s holding your work back from realising your brand brilliance and who can confidently and compassionately steer you in the right direction. By the end of the course you’ll have had the opportunity to work on three design briefs (from a selection of nine) and will have received individual feedback for each, and the opportunity to elevate and re present your work. Your investment also includes a critique of your current portfolio at the outset.
My experience of building brands and supporting designers over the past two decades has enabled me to pinpoint the specific elements that get in the way of producing incredible work and creating a commercially successful businesses. This programme maximises on timely, poignant and relevant content that will enable you to tighten up those areas needed to elevate. I’ll be sharing my most prescient insights into the key themes and the practical ways you can implement them to realise the potential in your business.
There’s something incredibly special about a group of entrepreneurs coming together with a specific goal in mind. Throughout the course you’ll have the opportunity to inspire and be inspired by your fellow go-getting participants and share in eachother’s creative journey. One of the things I’m most excited about is the prospect of this trailblazing community continuing the good work of lifting each other higher long after we graduate.
how the programme will work
This is a six week mentoring programme and deliberately different from my other online or in person offerings. I’m so often asked if I can work more closely with designers around the world and I’m thrilled to now be in the position to do this.
When time is at a premium, you need to know that where you invest your effort will give you the best return, so the emphasis for this offering is on guiding you through producing and presenting three stellar brand identities that you can take forward into your portfolio with pride.

frequently asked questions
what’s the cancellation policy?
This programme is non refundable.
You can work through this course from any location and around your unique commitments. I genuinely can’t think of a reason why you’d be unable to complete the course so treat this project like any new client coming on board and make the space in your schedule now. We are going to have an absolute blast!
if i suddenly get busy, can i defer my place?
I like your thinking! But no. As this is a programme with a strictly limited number of places, there is an expectation that when you sign up, you are committed.
This programme is about preparing your business to elevate in the longer term. It’s about raising you up and giving you the opportunity to prepare to thrive. Particularly for those of you stuck in the rut of being ‘busy’, often on the wrong projects with the wrong clients, this is about being able to escape the hustle. To see the value of your investment, you need to commit to seeing it through. Your business will thank you for it!
this looks amazing but I’m not a brand designer, can I sign up?
Oh I wish you could! But this is designed especially for Brand Stylists and Brand Designers who are serious about creating exceptional business.
it looks like the programme runs for seven weeks not six?
Well spotted! You’ll know me well enough by now to know that school holidays are precious family time and as half term falls in week 6 of the course, I’ve given us that week off. A useful breather to catch your breath, reflect and come into our last week together ready to make the most of it.
do I need to be available at specific times for webinars etc?
No! I’ll be hosting this programme on Thinkific which is the same platform I use to run my online courses. One of the things I love about it is that it allows me to schedule content for you in a structured and organised manner that’s easy and elegant for you to access.
I’ve planned in one Google Hangout (or similar) towards the end of the course that I’ll record for those of you unable to make it. Everything else can be accessed in your own time so you’ll be able to make it work for your schedule.
I’m not great at sticking to deadlines, will I still get the critique if I am late for the schedule?
Good question! I’m a firm believer that to run a successful design company you need to master the art of deadlines and I’d expect you to treat each project as if it were for a client. It’s a really simple way to elevate and build confidence.
Each week you’ll be delivering a project: one week for the first draft and the second for your revision. I’ve built into the schedule time to give you detailed and visionary feedback to truly elevate your work. If you miss the deadline, you won’t get feedback the following week and will miss those incremental opportunities to really refine your work, which is where the real value of the mentoring process lies. You’ll need to stick to the schedule to take advantage of this.
This format repeats three times so by the end of our time together you have three magnificent portfolio pieces. You’ll get the most out of the programme if you stick to the schedule.
I get that sometimes, despite the best of intentions, things happen beyond our control. If you miss the deadline, I’ll happily provide short, high level feedback on your work so long as it’s submitted before 5 November but this won’t be to the same detail as in the programme and you won’t gain the full benefit of staying on track.
Time to get organised?
do i need to be in london? are there meet ups or anything?
Nope. This is something you can participate in wherever you are in the world. All of the feedback takes place remotely so you can work this into your unique schedule and really enjoy this opportunity to take your work and your business to the next level.
are you going to be providing personal coaching?
No, I’m not a coach. I’m an experienced Creative Director, Brand Consultant and Entrepreneur and this is the magic I’ll be bringing to the party.
This programme is about giving you the insights and the one to one feedback to elevate your design work and your business. I’m not an accountability coach and there’s a tacit understanding that if you are ready to get the most out of this course, you’re self-motivated enough to meet the deadlines and organise your time effectively.
I have so many wonderful things planned for this course and I just know that you’re going to get so much benefit from it. I cannot wait to get started!
