Welcome to the Brand Stylist

Well hello there. How lovely to see you again! I'm so excited to be blogging again after such a lovely sabbatical. I plan to pack this little space full of creative inspiration, tips to help you up your game and the sort of know-how I wish someone had shared with me when I was building my first businesses. I hope that over time you'll find this blog packed with tips and techniques that you can use to take your business to the next level: whether you're a small business owner, a creative entrepreneur or a brand stylist.

Let's face it, running a small business can be inspiring, fun, creative, challenging and overwhelmingly demanding at times. It forces you to dig deep, push your skills to the limit and maintain your focus.

You need to be a whizz at both the numbers and the sales; at the admin and managing people. And most of all, you've got to continually get out there and drive the business forwards whilst at the same time maintaining the highest standards of quality and delivering on time, every time.

I get it, I've been there.

What I know is that the right website, brand identity and marketing collateral can make doing business a whole lot easier. By being distinctive you can cut through the noise and start to attract the right sorts of clients. The ones who really value what you do and are prepared to spend what you want to charge. You'll find that work becomes more fun, more inspirational and less of a graft.

And that's my (modest) goal for this blog. I want to encourage you to think big about what's possible, to play to your strengths and communicate in a way that really represents you and your business.

After all, why wouldn't you communicate in a way that truly resonates with your current and prospective clients? Why would you be constantly overcoming mis-perceptions about your business when you could just attract the right clients in the first place? And wouldn't it be nice to be genuinely, confidently proud when a friend from outside work looks at your website or takes one of your business cards?

be distinctive the brand stylist

You can so create the right impression for your business: but you need a little know how. And whether you're a startup looking for guidance on a lemonade budget or a seasoned entrepreneur ready to get serious about your identity with a brand stylist you'll find heaps of know how here to make sure that you create the very best impression you can.

I want to share with you the secrets behind using colour to create an emotive connection; how to use pattern and illustrations to add character and personality and how to carefully select typefaces that add a distinctive and intentional edge to your designs.

We'll examine how to pull all of these elements together to create a distinctive and cohesive design that you can be proud of. I'll encourage you to dig deep and think big about your business so that you have the focus and vision to be able to either brief a designer with confidence or create your own identity with confidence. And excitingly, I'll be collaborating with top brand stylists to share super inspirational projects to encourage and energise you.

Knowledge is power and so whether you plan on working with a designer or DIYing your brand identity you need to know this stuff.

I have so much planned for this space, I just can't wait to share more with you. Oh, if only there were more hours in the day...
