The Brand Brilliance book launch party
What an absolute blast we had on Wednesday night, I'm still trying to process it all.
It was an absolute downpour of a London day but more than 100 wonderful entrepreneurs, friends and family gathered at The Hoxton hotel to celebrate the launch of my latest book, Brand Brilliance.
We kicked off with drinks - wine and, of course, gin, kindly sponsored by Deerness Distillery (featured on p 241 of the book) which was utterly delicious. It was great to see so many people mingling and I want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you who turned out in the most hideous of weather to join us. It means tons.
The gorgeous Stephanie Eastwood and Angela Cassidy made sure that the evening went without a hitch and it was such a pleasure just turning up at a venue and being able to enjoy the evening. I did so much for the How to Style your Brand launch and I loved it, but this was my chance to actually just relax so I need to say a massive thank you to Ange for all of her weeks of hard work behind the scenes and the Hoxton for hosting such a great party.
There was such a great mix of people and a real buzz in the room which was fab to see!
The wonderful Joanna Copestick (below, glasses) without whom I'm not sure I'd ever have got the whole self-publishing-a-coffee-table-book thing off the ground. Jo is an expert in the field and a marvellous editor and really showed me the ropes when it came to publishing How to Style your Brand.
After mingling and merriment came the main event. A chat with the wonderful Elizabeth Cairns where she interviewed me about the book, the philosophy behind creating a destination brand and what it's really like to self publish. We had the whole thing videoed, so if you didn't make the launch and missed Ange's live instagram broadcasts, I'll be sharing the footage over the next few weeks.
I did have a little moment when I was a bit overwhelmed at the idea of everyone being here for my book, and when Elizabeth read out a message from Matt Pereira, who sadly couldn't make it, I must confess to being a little teary.
Then the signing. Which I loved! I loved meeting so many of you lovely readers and hearing how you were getting on with the books.
I was sad that I couldn't get round to meet everyone but I guess that's how it goes. You feel like you never manage to speak to everyone properly and I know there were so many people that I didn't even get to say 'Hi' to. Next time I hope!
Maddie and Helga from Blid and Hatton. It was so lovely to catch up with them (ignore my crazy face) and for Maddie to be at a party that she wasn't catering!
And the lovely Rona Wheeldon.
Thank you to Deerness Distillery for the delicious vodka and gin. And to the wonderful Jasmine of Little Cake Garden who very kindly made a whole trayful of on-brand blush macaroons which went down an absolute storm! I'm still recovering from a really wonderful and intense week. Thank you so much for all your lovely amazon reviews, for sharing the book on Instagram and for the messages you've sent. I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying the book.
On Sunday I head out to Majorca for The Brand Stylist retreat and then a very much needed holiday with the family. I'll be back 'on it' in June and can't wait! Thank you once again for all of your support in making Brand Brilliance a bestseller and for all your lovely feedback xxx
